What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. This includes the image you upload for your token’s public logo as we will host this publicly and provide a website link to it in a Stellar.toml file for everyone to see and use.

Stellar.toml information

Any information you provide for inclusion in the Stellar.toml file associated with your Stellar token will be stored on our serves and published publicly for everyone to see. Please do not include information that is sensitive or personal in any way as this information can be viewed by anyone and everyone.

Profile information

Any information you provide in the profile fields of your token account will be stored on our servers. For users that register on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Contact forms

If you send us an email or use our contact form, that information will be sent to our email provider where it will be stored on their servers. We will read that information so that we can better respond or address your comments, feedback, and questions. The information you provided will also be stored on our servers for an indefinite amount of time.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies to provide a better user experience. If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices.

When you visit our website, we use cookies to provide a better user experience, save your browsing preferences, and save your acknowledgement that we use cookies and third party services. Generally, we do not share your data. However, a significant portion of the information you provide us is intended to be used in a publicly viewable Stellar.toml file. Do not submit personal or sensitive information in any Stellar.toml fields as it will become public information.

How long we retain your data

By default, we store your information indefinitely. We do this not because we necessarily want to, but because doing so is a critical part of our service to our users. Specifically, most of the information we gather is to support publicly viewable Stellar.toml files and our retention of this information is the service we are providing. We may also keep communications you made with us so that we can provide better customer service.

What rights you have over your data

A user with a paying account can login and change and remove any of their personal information we store. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Generally, we do not send your data anywhere. But, most of the information you provided will be included in a Stellar.toml file that is designed to be seen and collected by many different servers and entities using the Stellar network. It’s also viewable on any internet browser the same as any other webpage.

How we protect your data

First, we try to limit the amount of information we collect from you. The vast majority of the information we collect is for purposes of setting up a Stellar.toml file and defining the characteristics of a digital token on the Stellar network. In other words, we try to make it so there is little information for us to protect. However, we protect all information we store (yours and ours) by updating our software regularly, using strong passwords, activating 2FA (if available), and using reputable providers.
